Acropolis Museum- Athens

This is a bust of Alexander the Great aka Alexander III, the is the son of Phillip II and is known for conquering Persia and Babylon. Alexander died after chugging too much wine at a party on June 13 323 BC. Even though his death wasn't very glamorous, his life was. He fearlessly led his people and had an accomplished career as ruler. His bust is very well done, especially when it comes to the detail that went into his hair. Although it is unclear in this picture, it's almost as if you could see all the strands of hair he has! Another thing I found interesting about this bust is his eyes. Even though not much detail was put into them, he the sculpture manages to convey emotion through his expression.
