Athens

This is a photo of a place called la plaka, or the plaza in English. This is the center of town where the flea market is held. As a tourist it was fun to to walk up and down aisles of the market place and hear people haggling in Greek, have vendors trying to get you into their shop, and see tourists starstruck over the handmade merchandise. From la plaka you also get a nice view of the Parthenon which you can sort of see in this picture. There are also a lot of ruins scattered around the town. To me it was mind blowing to see the locals walking around the square not even looking twice at the ruins of the ancient buildings just feet away from them. I couldn't stop myself from staring and nerding out at the history behind each building that I saw. I don't know if I could ever be desensitized to the beauty of this city like the locals are!
