Mycenae

This is photo of grave circle A located in the Mycenaean palace. This grave circle was excavated by Heinrich Schliemann. This is a famous site where many things such as the Mask of Agamemnon was discovered. The Mycenae civilization was prosperous from the years 1650-1100 BC. Its stone walls area sight to behold and its a true testament to the engineering skill in ancient times. You can see them from miles away! It is believed that the walls served as protection as well as for intimidation to keep the people from uprising. If I were a peasant in this city the enormous stone walls would have kept me from rebelling, because they give off an appearance strength and sense of power.
