This is what remains of the terracotta mold of a bronze statue of Apollo. The mold was used in a the bronze cast statue making technique. Apollo was believed to be one of the twelve Olympian gods that made-up the Pantheon. He was the god of light, music, truth, and healing among other things.

Apollo has always been one of my favorite Greek gods, because of his involvement in the arts and healing. I liked the duality of his nature, because I could relate to it. I am going to school to become a doctor, but I also enjoy music and art. I admire his dual nature so much I named one of my childhood stuffed animals after him!
